Accessibility Statement
Southern Maine Window Replacement builds this website so every homeowner can use it, including people who listen through a screen reader or get around with a keyboard alone. Our design target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and that work carries on each time the site changes.
If a form, a town map or any other part of the site stops you, call or email us through the contact page and we will work on a fix. You can also describe your window or door job over the phone instead of filling in a form.
Anyone planning new windows or doors should be able to use this website, including people who rely on a screen reader or a keyboard. This statement covers how we work toward that and what to do when something blocks you.
Our Commitment
We treat accessibility as part of designing and reviewing every page, not as a single audit finished once. Each barrier we spot, and each one a visitor tells us about, is added to our fix list.
The Standard We Work Toward
This site is designed against Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. No accessibility test is ever complete, so we do not claim full conformance, but those guidelines steer every design and build choice here.
What We Have Built In
- Headings in a logical order, and links that say where they lead
- Alt text on each meaningful image, and a visible label on each form field
- Text and button colors contrast-checked to WCAG Level AA
Known Limitations
Screen readers can struggle with our interactive town maps. Each town pinned on a map is also listed as a plain text link on that page, so nothing depends on the map alone.
When our contact page shows a street address, it opens Google Maps in a new tab, and that service has its own accessibility features and limits. Our phone number and email address also appear on the contact page as plain text.
How to Report a Problem
Tell us which page and which task gave you trouble, by phone or email using the details on our contact page. We will look into it and work on a fix.
Other Ways to Reach Us
A form that does not work for you should never hold up your window or door project, so give us a call instead. On a call, we can note the details of your house and book a visit.
Updates to This Statement
